Analysis of the causes of oil burning

1. Piston ring and valve problems: When the excavator is operating, the lower exhaust discharges blue-black smoke, and the oil consumption is increased than usual. This is probably due to piston ring wear, excessive valve clearance, excessive valve guide clearance, or incorrect piston installation.

2. Improper matching between the cylinder liner and the piston: The clearance between the cylinder liner and the piston is too large, or the piston oil ring is stuck or broken, which may cause oil burning.

3. Severe damage to the piston ring: If the burning oil phenomenon occurs at the same time as the lower exhaust oil dripping, it is very likely that the piston ring is severely worn or even broken.

4. Turbocharger seal problem: If the burning oil but the lower exhaust is not serious, it may be caused by the lax sealing of the turbocharger. At this time, it is recommended to remove the pipes at both ends of the turbocharger for inspection. If oil is found, it means that the turbocharger has a fault.

5. Poor valve oil seal: The sealing effect of the engine valve oil seal is not good, which will also cause the excavator to burn oil.

Common treatment methods

1. Oil quantity check: First, check whether the oil is added excessively.

2. Turbocharger inspection: Loosen the hoses at both ends of the turbocharger intake and exhaust for inspection. Under normal circumstances, the inside of the hose should be dry. If oil stains are found, there may be a problem with the turbine, causing the oil to flow into the exhaust pipe along the turbine.

3. Early morning start-up observation: When you start the excavator in the morning, pay attention to the exhaust pipe. If black smoke is emitted and there is a clear smell of oil, it may be that the turbine is blowing oil.

4. Exhaust pipe exhaust gas detection: Check the exhaust gas discharged from the engine exhaust pipe. Under normal circumstances, only a faint smoke can be seen at most. If the exhaust gas is thick or even dripping oil, it means that the engine needs to be repaired.

5. Key inspection parts: Generally speaking, the degree of oil reduction when the turbine blows oil is not serious, so the exhaust pipe should be checked in particular.
