01 Choose the right gasoline

First of all, we should know that there is a difference between winter gasoline and summer gasoline, the difference is mainly the gasoline vapor pressure (red vapor pressure, referred to as RVP) is different, the winter temperature is lower, the evaporation of gasoline (vaporization capacity) will be weakened. So our country supplies low vapor pressure gasoline (62KPa) in summer (April 1 to October 31) and high vapor pressure gasoline (69KPa) in winter (November 1 to March 31). These winter gasoline can improve engine starting performance in winter.

We should choose regular gas stations (Sinopec, petrochina, etc.) in winter supply, fresh, 92# (or above) alcohol-free gasoline. Don't buy substandard gasoline. The reason for using alcohol-free gasoline is that ethanol gasoline is easy to absorb water vapor in the air for a long time. At low temperatures, water vapor in the carburetor will form ice, causing the gasoline engine to fail to start.

02 Choose the right oil

At low temperatures, the oil will thicken and cannot flow smoothly, and some will even stop flowing completely. The ambient temperature for different grades of oil is not the same. The annual temperature in most parts of our country is between -18 degrees and 40 degrees, in general, when buying oil for four-stroke air-cooled gasoline engines, as long as you choose the big brand of winter and summer general oil 10W-30 (or 10W-40), and the oil grade is above SF.

03 Correct operation

Close the choke and start, at low temperatures, the temperature of the engine is very low when it is not working, the oil supply system can not effectively fully gasify the gasoline, and when the gasoline has not been gasified and is liquid, it is not easy to burn and start the engine. At this time, it is necessary to rely on the role of the choke to prevent some air from entering the cylinder to increase the mixture ratio of gasoline and air, while increasing the engine speed so that the engine does not stall.

When the normal operating temperature is reached, the choke is restored to normal state. After starting, the choke must be fully opened, otherwise it will cause black smoke, insufficient power, carbon deposition and other problems due to the high mixing ratio of oil and gas and incomplete combustion.

For an engine with a starting motor, you should ensure that the battery is fully charged, because the chemical activity of the battery at low temperatures will be reduced, the flow of electrons will be less active, and the actual discharge capacity will be reduced. This will cause the starting battery to fail to provide enough voltage and power to the starting motor to start the engine. Therefore, at the time of ignition, it is easy to lose power. If the battery is found to be deficient, the battery should be charged or replaced in time.

04 Choose the right engine

When purchasing equipment, specify the use of low-temperature starting performance of the engine. Most winter and summer single-cylinder gasoline engines do not have the ability to start at temperatures below minus 18 degrees.
