The old driver taught you how to operate the excavator more safely

Dec 20, 2024

1. When digging, do not dig too deep each time, and do not lift the bucket too hard to avoid damaging the machine or causing an overturning accident. When the bucket falls, be careful not to impact the track and frame.

2. Personnel who cooperate with the excavator to clear the bottom, level the ground, and repair the slope must work within the excavator's rotation radius. If you must work within the excavator's rotation radius, the excavator must stop rotating and brake the rotating mechanism before working. At the same time, the personnel on and off the machine must take care of each other and cooperate closely to ensure safety.

3. Vehicles and pedestrians are not allowed to stay within the loading range of the excavator. If you unload materials onto a car, you should wait until the car stops and the driver leaves the cab before you can rotate the bucket and unload materials onto the car. When the excavator rotates, try to avoid the bucket passing over the top of the cab. When unloading, the bucket should be lowered as much as possible, but be careful not to collide with any part of the car.

4. When the excavator is rotating, the slewing clutch should be used to rotate smoothly with the slewing mechanism brake. Sharp slewing and emergency braking are prohibited.

5. Before the bucket leaves the ground, it is not allowed to rotate or walk. When the bucket is fully loaded and suspended in the air, the arm should not be raised or lowered or walked.

6. When the crawler excavator is moving, the arm should be placed in the forward direction of the walk, and the height of the bucket from the ground should not exceed 1 meter. And brake the slewing mechanism.

7. When the excavator goes uphill, the drive wheel should be at the back and the arm should be at the top; when the excavator goes downhill, the drive wheel should be at the front and the arm should be at the back. The up and down slopes should not exceed 20°. When going downhill, it should be driven slowly, and speed changes and neutral sliding are not allowed on the way. When the excavator passes through tracks, soft soil, and clay roads, a pad should be laid.

8. When excavating loose soil on a high working surface, large stones and other debris in the working surface should be removed to avoid collapse and accidents. If the soil is dug into a suspended state and cannot collapse naturally, it needs to be handled manually. Do not use the bucket to smash or press it down to avoid accidents.

9. The excavator should not turn too quickly. If the curve is too large, it should turn in batches, each time within 20°.

10. When connecting the power supply to the electric excavator, the capacitor on the switch box must be removed. Non-electricians are strictly prohibited from installing electrical equipment. When the excavator is running, the cable should be moved by a worker wearing pressure-resistant rubber shoes or insulating gloves, and pay attention to prevent the cable from being abraded and leaking.

11. It is strictly forbidden to repair, maintain, tighten, etc. when the excavator is working. If abnormal noise, odor, excessive temperature rise, etc. occur during work, stop and check immediately.

12. When maintaining, inspecting, lubricating, and replacing the pulley at the top of the arm, the arm should be dropped to the ground.
